| The training programme pertains to the strengthening of Nursing services.
There are 17 General Nursing Schools run by the State Government to provide qualified nursing services in the State. Out of 17 schools, 13 Schools are attached with district hospitals and 6 schools are attached with medical colleges. Total 370 trainees seats are sanctioned in 17- General Nursing Schools.
One college of nursing affiliated with Gujarat University has also been started at Ahmedabad . Four year Post graduate B.S.C.(Nursing) course and Basic B.S.C. (nursing) course is conducted by this college.
13 Female health worker training schools are also being run by the Government to provide Multi- Purpose worker services in rural areas.
