| Introduction : |

| To carry out health education
of the various social groups of population, a scheme
was formulated in 1959. Under this scheme State
Health Education Bureau was formed with central
assistance. |

| Goal : |
| To educate the people about
health by informing, motivating and helping people
to adopt and maintain healthy practices and lifestyles. |

Activities : |

| 1. |
Bureau
procures. publishes and distributes
educational material like Stickers,
Banners, Poster, Leaflets and Hoarding
throughout state. |
| 2. |
Health exhibitions
and cultural programmes are also organized
at different places & times by
this Health Education Bureau. Audio-visual
displays are the part of these exhibitions.
Thus, health education bureau makes
people conscious about recognition
of different diseases and the steps
for prevention of such diseases. |

School health
programme is carried out for promotion
of healthy lifestyles and prevention
and treatment of different diseases
found among school children. |

Celebration of
various health days like, World Health
Day, and other health related days
like Anti tobacco day, National Population
day, as well as Jivan Raksha Yatra
etc. are organised. |
