Presently 11 Ayurvedic colleges of Gujarat state are endeavouring to deliver ancient Ayurvedic knowledge to the students in a most scientific way. Two post-graduate colleges offering 14 specialties and Ph.D. in the field of Ayurveda. These colleges are attached with world renowned Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar. The Institute of Post Graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar conduct Ph.D. level education in thirteen different Ayurvedic subjects. After completion of MD (Ayu), one can apply for it. They have to prepare thesis as well as clinical data of minimum 100 patients. The duration of this course is a minimum of 2 residential years.
