The
course for graduation :-
There are total 9 colleges in Gujarat, which impart education in Ayurved. Out of these nine colleges, 4 are under Govt. administration, 4 are run by non Govt. trusts and remaining 1 is run by Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar. These colleges run graduation courses of 5 1/2 years, including one year’s compulsory internship. This course provides the degree of B.S.A.M. All these Ayurved colleges are affiliated to the Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar. The minimum qualification for this course in these colleges is 12th science plus Sanskrit subject either at 10th or 12th std. level. The minimum percentage for the admission to this course is 50 %. Total No. of admissions to these Ayurved colleges is ascertained by the No. of beds available at the hospitals attached with these colleges and the corresponding ratio of the seats is about 1:3. These colleges have 365 seats for students while beds for the patients at the attached hospitals are 990.

The admissions to these colleges are given through a Centralized Admission Committee of the Directorate, I.S.M.& H. on merit basis. The Govt. norms for the reservation of the seats for different categories are strictly observed. The 4 colleges getting grant-in-aid have been taken up by the Govt. under Direct Payment Scheme. 50 % seats of the total seats granted to each of these colleges are free seats and the rest 50 % seats are available on higher payment system. The higher payment fees are Rs. 25,000/- per annum. Teaching Staff- pattern, prescribed by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, is as under .
