For
better co-ordination of the various activities at the
district level, 17 posts of District Ayurved Officer have
been created. These posts are of class : I and in the pay
scale of Rs. 10,000-15,200.
The office of the District Ayurved
Officer monitors the activities of Ayurved dispensaries,
Homoeopathy dispensaries, Homoeopathy units, small Ayurved
hospitals transferred to district Panchayats and
grant-in-aid institutions. Proposals of opening of new
dispensaries / hospitals are being scrutinized thoroughly
and sent to the Directorate for further action therein.
District Ayurved officer is the controlling officer as far
as grant-in-aid is concerned. Periodical and surprise
checking and inspections of the dispensaries are being done
by district Ayurved officer and technical as well as
administrative guidance is provided as and when required.
Thus, the office of the District Ayurved officer acts as
co-ordinator for the purpose of smooth administration
between Directorate and Panchayats.
The
duties and functions of District Ayurved Officer are as
under: -
Administrative:
-
(1)
To
co-ordinate between State and district level regarding
activities of Ayurved, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy and other
Indian Systems of Medicine, its subsequent duties and
responsibilities.
(2)
To carry
out the technical and administrative inspection of district
level activities of Ayurved, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy and
other Indian Systems of Medicine. (Less than 20 bedded
Ayurved hospitals)
(3)
To
collect, check and send the proposals with proper
recommendations to the Directorate for new schemes and
activities starting from rural to district level.
(4)
To take
necessary steps for the development, expansion and
propagation of the activities of Ayurved, Homoeopathy,
Naturopathy and other Indian Systems of Medicine and make
the systems popular.
(5)
To
inspect the institutions of Ayurved, Homoeopathy,
Naturopathy and other Indian systems of medicine through out
of the district periodically, surprisingly and vigilantly
for smooth and fair administration, and to provide
administrative as well as technical guidance for the
maintenance of the momentum of the administration.
(6)
To visit
under routine and surprise inspection of the institutions of
Ayurved, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy and other Indian Systems
of Medicine throughout the district for eight days under
which three nights are included during a month.
(7)
To carry
out the responsibilities / work entrusted by the Govt /
Director from time to time.
Financial
:-
(1)
To Act as
drawing and disbursing officer / controlling officer for the
Activities of Ayurved / Homoeopathy and other Indian System
dispensaries / hospitals (less than 20 Beds) in the
district.
(2)
To obtain
sanctions from the Govt. and follow the procedure for the
purpose of purchase of medicine, equipments etc. As per
rules.
(3) To take necessary steps for the maintenance of
financial suitability
All the District Ayurved
officers are deputed to respective district Panchayats
under de-centralization of powers. The detail of the
