Act : Information for Manufacturers and Sellers

 

Actions :

Persons selling or manufacturing adulterated or misbranded food are prosecuted in the court of law. The offence under this act is cognizable offence and liable to punishment as per section 16 of the said act.

 

Information for Manufacturers and Sellers :

Some of the Guidelines for Food Manufacturers/Distributors/Dealers/Retailers & Hoteliers is as below:-

(1)

To obtain food license, under PFA from LHA act before commencing business.
Food Units in the area of Municipal Corporation has to obtain license from respective municipal corporation offices and those nagar palikas having been notified as local area gives food license in their respective areas. Units in areas other than municipal corporations and notified nagar palikas has to obtain food license from respective District offices of Food and Drugs Control Administration.


(2)

To ensure that labeling of packed food articles complies with the Rules 32 of the act.

 

(3)

To fulfill the conditions of license as per rule so of the act.

 

(4)

To oblige with the rules and regulations of the PFA act.

 

(5) To contact any of the above office for any difficulties regarding the act.
